Thank you all so much for caring and praying for Steve. I can honestly say I never thought I would be using the internet in this way to update you on his health but am so glad this is available. Over the past couple of years I have read health updates for a few other people who have been very sick and found it a valuable and effective way to pray for them. I hope this will be your experience as well.
What I do know is that Steve (affectionately known as "Pa" to our GK's) is very sick with leukemia and, as he has said, "This didn't take God by surprise" and "Our times are in His hands". From the moment he heard this shocking news he has never waivered on the fact that God is in control, that has shown through the peace he has. We also know that God has moved mountains and used many many loving people to come to his aid. Thank you all so very much!
Steve had a bone marrow test done on Monday and will find out the results of that test on Wednesday. As I understand it, that will determine what type of leukemia it is which will lead the way for a treatment plan. He is in Parkview hospital for now waiting along with what he calls, "his possie".
The scripture I dwell on is, "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe. For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy."
I know there is a "faithful cloud of witnesses " that surrounds us here and either I or one of the kids will send more updates as we know more.
In His Grace,
Dawn

ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you all. You do have a wonderful family and I appreciate all the time I was able to share in your love. Your family influenced me in a profound way. If you ever need me I am only a call away!
ReplyDeleteNews gets around and hopefully those passing it along are praying as they pass it. Today has been a day of people coming to my thoughts, so my day feels like it has been one long day of prayer. Know that you are in mine daily! Love you all!
ReplyDeleteKristin & I are looking forward to another boo-apple pie to share with you. You have a great team of family, church and physicians on your side. But most of all, God is for you. And if He be for you, who can be against you? We pray you'll be back to tootin' your harp in no time flat.
ReplyDeleteWe were so sorry to hear the news; but know that the peace of God is in your hearts. Life can be so tough sometimes........but God makes it so much easier. Know that you will be in our prayers as you face this difficult time....and remember to take "one" day at a time. Don't make any decisions without having peace one way or the other (I'm speaking from experience). We love you guys and have such fond memories of you.
