Monday~Just Chillin'

Steve and I are just taking it easy around the house today, well maybe not quite that easy. I started out at 5:30 with a pot of coffee and Clorox towelettes wiping down all the handles, door frames, sinks, switches, etc. in the hopes of cutting down bacteria on the things he touches. Then I got an hour watering and weeding done followed by two loads of laundry and three square meals and dishes. In there somewhere I harvested the last 18 bundles of lavender and got them hung to dry. For supper we had a nice batch of breaded chicken livers, hopefully it helps his low red blood cells perk up. Steve is testing his endurance a little bit but sometimes I have to run to the window and yell, "I think you are in a health code violation!" and make him come in and wash his hands for the tenth time. He is a good sport about it for now and I try not to be too bossy but if he gets doing too much I can always threaten to share about it on the blog :). He has found that watering is a pretty good fit for his current abilities so that is what he is doing right now...seems we have a lot of watering that needs done out here. He has fixed a few hoses and other broken gadgets, shaped up one of the computers, and read a lot.

In the evenings we have been watching the Lewis & Clark documentary that was done by Ken Burns. What a great achievement that was and so full of wonderful examples of team work throughout the whole expedition. We are really enjoying it and are heading back tonight with our pie in hand to finish it up.

Tomorrow I will share how his counts are coming along since we have an appointment in the morning.

In His Care,
Team McCreery

  1. How I can identify with little actions that speak of 'normal life'. Who ever thought that watering would be a privilege. I wear vinyl gloves topped with heavy rubber gloves when outside. And wash, wash, wash my hands. Those moments of normal are offset by reality. How comforting to know God is ultimately in control And how difficult it is to trust when one wants to remind God of ones circumstances. Thinking and praying for a elevated ANC.
