Thursday~Chicago Consultation

We just got back from Chicago...it was great having Stephanie, Heath, and Christopher go along for support, thanks again kids you made it a pleasant trip to remember! At this point what we know is Steve's best option for long term remission and eventually a cure for this disease is to have a stem cell transplant. The verdict is still out on what type of transplant, his own cells or cells from a donor. He will go back to Chicago next Wednesday to have a battery of preliminary tests done in order to make sure his overall physical condition is healthy enough for the procedure. In the meantime Steve is seeking how to get the air conditioner in the house working, it went out last night.

The portion of scripture below is reminding me to have continual regard towards the providence of God in all concerns of life. I love this quote from Matthew Henry, "In singing this psalm we must have our eye up onto God for success in all our undertakings and a blessing upon all our comforts and enjoyments, because every creature is that to us which he makes it to be and no more."

Psalms 127: 1-5
Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved sleep. Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Thank you for your prayers for a safe trip and good meeting, because of them the Lord was in control all the way and both were successful .
