Monday~Steve Was Home...Now He's Not

Steve had to come into the emergency room last night around midnight. He was starting to get a fever, was short of breath and dizzy. By the time I got him to the ER at Parkview in Fort Wayne his temp was gone but he was still having other difficulties so they admitted him and are giving him transfusions. His lungs are good...no pneumonia...yeah! They are doing blood cultures to see if he has any infections going on, I think we will know that on Wednesday. It takes 48 hours to get the results of blood cultures. Steve and I had quite a discussion before I could get him to agree he had a fever and needed to come down to the ER. After taking multiple temperature readings on a variety of thermometers, even pulling out his mothers tried and true mercury thermometer from her nursing days, he finally got in the car. When they tested him at the hospital an hour later he had no temperature but I'm believing it is because I called the Pastor on the way down to the hospital and he and his wife were praying hard.

Anyway, we got a warm welcome from our beloved nurses, they are going to fix Steve right up and get him back on his feet so I can take him back home. That is all the drama we can take for one night. He is starting to rest pretty good now and says he is feeling somwhat better....more news at 11 :)

Thank you all for holding our arms up during this long battle,
Dawn
