Wednesday~Chicago Hospital Contact Info

Here is the mailing contact information for Steve while he is at the University of Chicago Medical Center if you would like to send cards.

Steve McCreery
Room TN672
c/o Bernard Mitchell Hospital
5841 S. Maryland St.
Chicago, IL 60637

He is sleeping alot now, I think this much chemo makes you tired. He didn't have any bad reactions to the chemicals last night or today just seems exhausted. He did get up and had a good breakfast, looked over some paperwork, journaled, talked to a few students who came by the room, googled a little bit and went back to bed. He will probably be up later to eat, patients have to take care of their own food here by calling out for it, it takes about an hour after you call so I will have to get use to that and think ahead. Timing is everything it would seem.

Still no definitive diagnosis on his secondary condition and evidently there are differing opinions on which type of treatment is the best for his type of disease. The transplant team is meeting tomorrow to discuss transplant patients so maybe there will be some news after that. Since this is a teaching hospital students or "fellows" stop by the the room more than doctors. The doctor comes by the room a couple of times a week but hasn't been here yet.

Thank you for keeping in touch with us and going through this with us. It is making a hugh difference in many ways for both Steve and I. How wonderful is it to open up and turn to your daily devotion during one of the difficult days of your life and find the scripture quote of the day is from your favorite verse of your favorite chapter in the whole Bible. I did today and instantly knew the Lord was near, you see He knows how much I love this verse, I have told Him so over and over again (and he made it happen for me today just to let me know He cares). To me this verse is the essence of all that God is and He longs for, and what He is working to accomplish since time began. It is from the 17th chapter of the book of John, verse 11 : Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.

Love you all,
Dawn

  1. I hope the chemo, the wait on doctors and all the things that go on in hospitals doesn't push your patience or your faith! Steve is one strong guy! He used to hit baseballs for home runs with a softball bat. Softball bats were still wood back then but much thinner than a baseball bat. So, to hit a home run with one of those meant you had some natural power. I am convinced that Steve's best days are still ahead of him. Dawn...you are a Miller...that means something too. It means that you have unbelievable determination and maybe just a little stubborn...that never quit attitude.

  2. SORRY. Having never used this before today I didn't know what profile to select AND I didn't sign it.

You both are in my heart, my mind and my prayers!

  3. 2John 1
The elder, to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth--and not I only, but also all who know the truth--because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.

We are so grateful that we all place our trust in God and His Word, living in us because of what Christ has done for us all.

We are holding you up in prayer....bearing that burden all because of Him....

    Blessings Phil & Kristin
