Wednesday~Day +1

Heath, Steph, Dawn, and Steve at Transplant
It was great having Steph and Heath visit yesterday and today.  They stayed at Aunt Mary Jane and Bob's place for the night and came back today to hang out with us in the room.  Steve started feeling a little itchy so they gave him some benedryl which made him sleep most of the afternoon and evening.  After the kids left I spent the rest of the evening on a John Wayne movie blitz marathon, seven episodes in a row, wow...two discs down two to go.  The next step in Steve's treatment is for his old cells to die off from the chemo he had last week and for the new stem cells he just received to engraft in the bone marrow.  They will see from the blood tests when the engraftment takes place. He will probably have to have transfusions while his counts go down and we are praying he doesn't get neutropenic fevers or infections during this process.  The physical therapist has been in to see him a couple of times, evidently he has developed frozen shoulders, which causes pain and loss of range of motion.  That has been slowly developing since July, hopefully the exercises will help losen up the shoulders.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone,
Dawn
