Steve's potassium and sugar levels are coming down but they aren't ready to release him yet. They may unhook his heart monitor since he hasn't had any problems that way but he still gets insulin three times a day to get his sugar under control. The prednisone overworked his kidneys so they were beginning to not filter properly which caused other problems as well. It's a vicious cycle, when one things goes out of wack then other things begin to not function right. He says he feels pretty good but his counts need to be closer in range before they can let him loose. Sounds like he may have to closely monitor his sugar levels and take insulin shots after he gets out too but hopefully that will be short term until he gets weaned off the prednisone. well, ok then, i guess you've got it under control, staying on task and doing what you can do to keep those levels all leveled up. thinking of you on a cold and blustery indiana winter's day. Lord Bless you both, love deb and steve.
