Monday~Day +83

We just returned from Steve's clinic appointment in Chicago.  I would say it was a good visit, his kidney counts aren't improving much but his other blood counts are climbing nicely.  He will still have to continue home IV hydration infusion daily to keep him flushed out.  His GvHD rash is a bit worse but they didn't want to change his medications this time.  The Doctor is thinking the donor cells will eventually sycronize with Steve's system sooner or later and it is best to have minimal chemical control in order to keep his organs healthy until they do.  Steve has a routine appointment next Monday and then on March 3rd, the 100 day mark, he will have another bone marrow biopsy to check the status of engraftment.

Resting in the Grace of Our Lord,
Steve and Dawn

  1. I am so glad you found me. I'm just starting the BMT process. I'm on day +7. Thank you so much for chronicling what lies ahead!
