We are having a quiet morning here in room #280. We ate breakfast and got the status on Steve's counts. They are starting to move on their own, we were told they may fluctuate up and down for awhile and then take off. We don't want them to rise to fast, too rapid of cellular growth may indicate the bad stem cells haven't been eradicated, they want to see a slow steady pace to the rise of his white blood cells and absolute nutrafill count (anc). When his anc count is above 500 he can go home and just go to outpatient services for follow up treatments, that will be at least 2-4 more weeks. When we get home we have to watch for fevers and infection along with regular labs and follow up chemo to insure no leukemia.
Well Steve's on the move so I'll sign off for now, I think we are taking a walk around the hood.
