It looks like a really nice day out today, the sun is shining and the clouds are puffy white. Steve's counts are creeping up slow and steady now for the past four days. His ANC is 110 and he is receiving 2 units of blood right now and napping during the process. The vascular nurse worked on his central line today and discovered that if Steve sits with his head and shoulders forward while twisting his upper body to the right and sinking in his chest as he coughes they can draw blood from his line. I have to chuckle cause it's quiet a site. It will probably stay this way until his counts come up enough to surgically work on the line, right now there is a risk of bleeding while his platletts are under 50.
A gift we opened today was a child's toy of a ball on a string that you swing and catch in a cup so we decided to start a Room 280 Cup and Ball Tourny (complete with stats on the wall). Our daughter came and promptly took first place with 11 catches. After she left Steve flew ahead with 14, I'm sadly lagging with 4 so I have to go and practice. Later we have plans to watch a Bond movie tonight (if he is awake enough) and take it easy.
I have studied Psalms 60 today and liked verse four and twelve, "You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth"... "Through God we shall do valiantly, And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.
His Banner Over Us is Love
