The results today are what we expected but not completely what we hoped for. This bone marrow charlie result did state that the acute myeloid leukemia is in complete remission. Thank God for that victory! Steve's blood counts are still getting better too. However it also confirmed marked diffuse reticulin fibrosis in the marrow and it is unclear to us at this time what that really means. Our appointment for the University of Chicago to find out more is set for next Thursday. Everything will be discussed at that time with academic experts in the stem cell transplant field. The Lord knows which option is best for Steve, our prayer is for wisdom and understanding to make the best decisions we can, strength and endurance for our family, and that Christ would be glorified is all that transpires.
Thank you all so much for so faithfully keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We fight the good fight together and are keenly aware that our victories and triumphs are because you are on your knees beseeching the Heavenly Father on our behalf. We too are praying for you as we abide together in the vine.
In Christ

Steve and Dawn,
ReplyDeleteOur prayers for your journey continue. You are very articulate in stating that our victories and triumphs are because of the prayers that God hears. Each day is appreciated anew and becomes very precious. The Lord continues to be our rock!
Dear friends,
ReplyDeleteAnd so the journey continues...glad to hear that remission has been achieved!! Even more glad to know that your days are finding you stronger. Oh that we would all treasure each day we are given! And those that we share them with, eh?
Know that our prayers continue as you look to the Chicago trek. God knows all things and cares deeply for our every concern or fear. Keep on leaning on Him...He is able to do great things!!!
Love ya' lots,
Cheri and Carl
