Friday's Fort Wayne check up was very good, Steve's counts are getting better each week. There isn't much news on our Doctors consultation with MD Anderson, but the verdict with all consulted so far is that what needs to be done as soon as possible is the allogeneic (donor transplant). So that is the plan and now we wait for Chicago to call and inform us how things are progressing. It should be mid-October when Steve is called to go to the hospital so in anticipation of multiple road trips to and around Chicago we have said goodbye to both our old vehicles and traded them in for a newer model car. It was really kind of sad to sit in my Jeepy for the last time, Steve got me that car in 1997 so I have had it aloooooong time. I have traveled alot of road in that Jeep but it was time, I must admit, to let it go.
Well now we gear up for Chicagoland once again by cleaning, gathering, and packing. But before all that we are looking forward to TheMATCH golf outing at Heron Creek October 9. I am hoping the weather is nice and sunny but come rain or shine it will be fun just being together!
I want to end tonight by saying a big thank you to everyone involved in the garage sale effort last weekend that brought in over $400 for our medical expenses. Thanks to Ilona for startng the ball rolling, my sister in law Sherley for coordinating things, thank you to all who brought items and helped haul...my other sister in law Robyn, my friend Paula and her son Jay, and my daughter Steph, and everyone who gave items, thank you. I probably missed someone since I was not around there much I am not sure who all helped but Steve and I truly do appreciate your love and generosity. There is a verse in Proverbs that says, "a man that refreshes others will himself be refreshed". You have all been so refreshing to us and I pray that the Lord will refresh each one of you.
Gratefully yours,
Dawn

Dawn & Steve....think of you both so often. We are so grateful for our friendship over the years but especially God's fellowship one with another.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading Revelation and Genesis...the beginning and the end, the First and the Last. We have so many promises made and much more to come. Walking by faith with you both.
Blessings prayed for you today.
Love Phil & Kristin
Hello dear friends!
ReplyDeleteIt has been too long since I sent you a wee note, but you are never far from my mind. Forgive my negligence....for while it is easy for us "outsiders" to keep on with our routines, I know that your lives remains engulfed with the constant turmoil of cancer chaos! I pray that you are still very aware of God's constant undercurrent of loving care and that His peace is there to "calm the storms" that may threaten to overtake you from time to time. He is able to sustain you and He will.
This is a devotional that I read today and want to share as my prayer for you:
When I am weak, Father, please fill me with Your strength. When I fall down, help me stand. When I am afraid, hide me in the shelter of Your hand. At all times, in all circumstances, stand by my side.
"As for me, I will call upon God: and the Lord will save me." Ps 55:16
Love and continued prayes,
Cheri and Carl
