Steve has been kind of tired today, I think all the activity yesterday was a good thing but I could see it wore on him as the evening progressed. After a tasty meal (if I do say so myself) for supper last night we watched a few Chicago talk shows and went to bed early. I did a couple of loads of laundry today while Steve worked on some correspondence and that was about it, we're just hangin' around the apartment looking out the window, which is why I am so thankful we have a nice view to see. I have been reading on post transplant care though and thought I would share this info on the stages of stem cell transplant recovery. Recovery can take a year or more, the first 0-100 days are considered the early stage of recovery when engraftment occurs in the first 30 days (engraftment can take longer for some) and your infection level is at it's highest risk. Mid recovery continues from 100 days out from transplant up to one year, and long-term recovery is from the one year period on. There is alot that can be said about each of those stages but I'm a bottom line girl and just like things summed up. Steve obviously is in the engraftment stage and I am reading more about how to measure that so when I know more I'll share.
Merry Christmas,
Dawn & Steve
