A quick update over this snowy and windy weekend. Steve is tired but doing well, he began losing his hair a few days ago so I spent yesterday morning plucking and shaving his head. Lord willing this will be the last time he loses his hair. Of course he needed a cap in this weather so while it was nice enough out yesterday morning we made our way out for a short time to get him fitted with hat and gloves, it was a nice mental health break. The stomach infection is completely cleared up so he was able to end a couple of medications. Tomorrow is a clinic visit in the afternoon and I'm hoping the rodes are cleared enough to make it. In the evening my brother Kim surprised us when he showed up at the door! It was great to see him, he hung out with us, watched a few movies, stayed overnight, and then took off for home after breakfast. We talked to him later to make sure he made it home okay, which he did. Thanks Kim...it made our day :).
Take care,
Dawn & Steve

Hello!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your stomach bug has finally flown the poop- oops....I mean coop! :) Did you get a bit of polish while you were out shopping to help Steve's head really shine!? :) After all, you two have such brilliant smiles and inspirational outlooks you could take advantage of the baldness and let it further reflect how you are letting God "love you through" this experience! "This bald head of mine...I'm gonna let it shine!"....Sorry, can you tell I didn't get much sleep this weekend?
In all seriousness, know that you are truly a blessing by sharing this journey with us all. And while God multiplies those new healthy cells,(I'm sure He's counting those since He doesn't have to count so many hairs on your head), we'll just keep on believing Him for His ongoing provision for all your needs. Enjoy that view of the "Big Pond" and know that we are holding you both close to our hearts.
Promise for the day: The Lord says, "II will make my people strong with power from me!...Wherever they go, they will be under my personal care." Zechariah 10:12
Thought for the day: If God sends us on stony paths, He provides strong shoes. (Corrie ten Boom)
Love and hugs,
