Tuesday ~ January 4, 2011

Morning All,

Just a quick update. Yesterday, we noticed that my rash was still spreading so Dawn called Paula, our Nurse Practioner to let her know and to get her advice. She called back a little later and said the doctor wanted to see me asap. After both Paula and then Dr. Larson examined me they shared that the skin byopsy results showed graft verses host disease (GVHD), not uncommon. Doc gave me a prescription for prednisone and thought we should see some clearing in two - three days. From what Dawn and I have read on post-transplant care, a little GVHD is not neccesarily a bad thing. We hope that it stays at a minumum though. Thanks again for your prayers...wouldn't be here without them.

In His care,
Steve and Dawn

  1. Good morning, Steve and Dawn,

Just thought I would send out a quick "hello" before our granddaughter wakes up. Isabelle is 20 months old and is spending the week with us. How quickly one forgets the demands of caring for young ones!

We pray that your rash will soon subside (and that the neuropathy issues will too). Perhaps you can pass some time by "connecting the dots" Who knows what creative pictures are hiding amongst all those spots? - just an idea. :) Most of all we pray you will remain encouraged and empowered by God's love and never-ending care.

You remain near to our hearts and always in our prayers.

    Love,
    Carl and Cheri
