Tuesday~Waiting on anc's & more on the diagnosis

While we are biding our time, Steve at the hospital and me at home, I thought it time to share a few other aspects of his diagnosis. This is one of those times in life where you try and take a day at a time and stay in the moment as much as possible but then every now and then you need to peek up out of the fox hole and take a glance at what's out there...just to prepare.

The doctors have really wanted us to stay focused on the AML diagnosis and we have done that, it is what he is currently receiving treatment for and doing very well with it, but as you may recall on the May 26th description of the diagnosis I mentioned a possible secondary condition that may cause further complications, that condition is Myelofibrosis, scaring of the bone marrow. The term they used was, "there was background noise" [of myelofibrosis] in the pathology reports on the first bone morrow test (alpha). The second bone morrow test (bravo) didn't show any background noise but that is not unusual since the chemo pretty much wipes out the morrow of any activity. Our prayer is that the third bone morrow test (charlie) is what will show that Steve's body is building good healthy stem cells and a healthy bone marrow structure. Our hope is as always in the Lord and we know that just as Moses held up the rod in battle to show forth God's omnipotent power, it too here is in control.

Daily I am reminded of God's love through all of you...Steve, I, and our whole family receive visitors, calls, comments, emails, cards, etc. that help us to keep our focus, give us comfort, and strength...THANK YOU ALL SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

Job 12:10 is what Steve shared with me this morning, "In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind". He also said, "You know Dawn, the God who knitted me together in my mother's womb still has knitting needles and He is able to renit good morrow, if that be His will.

As I was reading a study on Jehovah Rapha (God Our Healer) this statement stood out to me, "May God give us the faith to look for (but not demand) the miraculous in our lives, when it is required to accomplish the purposes and promises of God." Amen!

  1. Steve & Dawn,
You are continuously in my prayers and thoughts.
It always puts a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart when I see that music is flowing on the harmonica. This I know is one of Steve's ways of praising the Lord, because it brings joy to others!
Just as a piece of information, I did see Dan & Deb and the Bovees on Sunday. We had a surprise three score birthday party for Betty Jo.
    Talk with you later.
    In Christ Love,
    Herbie

  2. Your posting are an encouragement to me regarding dependency on the Lord. This is not some future thought, but moment by moment, day by day. You DO cherish each day as a gift from the Lord.

I go to have my ANC drawn in an hour. Mid-way through my chemo cycle, it ofter in dangerously low. Yet, thankfully, I have not had a recent infection.

I really like the comment about God having knitting needles. woodjourney@blogspot.com
Our pray for encouragement and positive counts continues.
