When I came to follow Christ nearly thirty years ago, many thought I was crazy, some doubted and most just watched but in those thirty some odd years He has never let me down. I expressed myself in a poem I wrote back then and I think it's still relevant today. Have a blessed Easter Sunday and I'll keep on trusting the One that has made this Sunday possible. I hope you will , too.
Where are you?
As I sit here with pen in hand
and all my thoughts at my command,
my spirits quickened by the One
who dwells within and calls me son
to share these words of life with you
In hopes they’d root and fill you through.
Now life on earth’s not life at all
until you’ve heard the Father’s call
and trusted in His only son
For who he is and what he’s done,
for he who died there on that tree
arose again to set you free.
Free from what you say with doubt.
Free to walk with God without
the burden and the guilt of sin,
which weighs so heavily within.
Free to see with open eyes
through all the problems that arise.
Free to fellowship around
where Truth and Spirit both abound.
Free to feel the sweet release
of Spirit wings in a heart at peace.
Be honest with yourself my friend.
Christ offers life that has no end.
Not false hope that will rob you of
a true relationship of love.
As God asked Adam, I’ll ask, too.
With deep compassion, where are you?
